Municipal Archive of Betanzos
Although the French army destroyed part of the archive in the War of Independence, we still have documents from the end of the 15th century. The archive itself has a consultation room for researchers and participates in the edition of the Anuario Brigantino, where numerous references to this documentary fund are published every year.
Public and private funds
The Municipal Archive of Betanzos is made up of more than 10,000 boxes of documentation, mostly from the own fund generated by the Betanzos Council in its activities. In addition to this documentation, we have numerous private funds from institutions that have already disappeared, such as the Liceo Recreativo or the Patroado dos García Naveira; and prominent families and people from the city, such as the composer Carlos López García-Picos.
